Snow Makes my Day

The view out our living room window.

God's Winter Wonderland
As most of you know, I love, love, love snow!  The beauty of the huge flakes are indescribable!  After having a dreary day of rain and melting snow yesterday, we are enjoying a gorgeous white blanket of snow once again.  I'm glad winter it not over yet!  This certainly is a great ending to a very lousy day.

I've been in the house since last Wednesday for Prayermeeting because of sickness.  My idea of getting out was not where I had to go this morning though; to the oral surgeon's office!  I have been dreading this day for a long time as I needed to have a tooth pulled. I had another one pulled a few months ago, and realized that the "local" they give me causes my heart to feel like it is pounding out of my chest.  So, I was really dreading that same experience again.  Yes, it felt the same again and they had to give me oxygen for a while to help me.  Anyway, everything went well after that and I came home so relieved that it was all over until .....

I suddenly started feeling sick to my stomach and decided I better drink or eat something before I get sick.  I poured myself some soda pop and grabbed a container of pudding and sat down to eat.  I took a couple sips of soda and the next thing I know my vision was going, I was sweating profusely, and felt like I was going to pass out.  I yelled for Evangelyn (who was home from work sick) and told her what was going on.  She came in with me, but thankfully after a few minutes I felt better.  I'm not exactly sure of the cause of that horrible experience but I think my sugar must have been very low.  I have not been eating the greatest since I've been sick, and then having not eaten since midnight last night must have caused it.  It sure was scary!

So, now you know why I'm especially enjoying the beauty of God's winter wonderland this evening!  Thank you, Jesus!

This Winter = Sickness

It's winter and that has meant lots of sickness this year!  I don't ever recall getting sick so frequently.  I guess my immune system must be down or something!  We went to God's Bible School last weekend for a class I had to attend.  We must have picked up a flu bug there, because when Monday rolled around, Valentine's Day, some of the family ended up not feeling so well (Many G.B.S. students were sick this week).  Nathan complained of a sore throat while Joshua suddenly puked everywhere with no warning whatsoever!  From then on, somebody has been sick throughout the entire week.  Nathan steadily grew worse, but forced himself to go to driver's education class because he didn't want to make it up.  Joshua is still trying to overcome his illness.  I started to get a sore throat on Wednesday, then came the bad cough, the chest pain, and now the stomach symptoms.  Yuck!  Evangelyn came down with the sore throat yesterday.  So who's left?  My dear hubby!  I sure hope he doesn't catch the bug!  It is long lasting, and leaves one miserable!  My head has felt like it is floating somewhere ....

Beyond all the sickness stuff, I can still say I'm thankful for a Heavenly Father who loves and cares for His children.  Even though I haven't felt like picking up my Bible and reading for any length of time, I have felt His presence near as I meditated on Him and some thoughts He gave me.  I always want to be in the place where I am open to Him and His still small voice.
