"My Rib, Ohhhh My Rib......"

On a lighter note...

James took the kids sledding almost a couple weeks ago now to a large hill in Lima. They took an old-fashioned kind of sled which they had never used before. Watching the kids have such a great time on it, my husband could not resist. So a few times went smoothly but the last time, well ... you can guess. Sometimes as we age, we forget our limits. (ha!)

Here are some cute pictures of Joshua taken when he turned 9 months old. I know they are a little outdated, but not many of you saw them, so I thought I would share them with you here.

Yesterday was a sad day for James and I as we went to visit James' sister in a hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. We received a call from my in-laws on Saturday that April, his sister, was very ill and may not live much longer. The attending physician wanted to meet with the family to discuss what is going on with April, and actions to be taken in the possible near future. With many tears his family gathered in a little room together and listened to the doctor's summary of April's condition. According to the doctor she has multiple infections, her breathing is very labored, her heart rate is very high, and has a soaring fever at times. So far she is not responding at all to the strongest and best antibiotics being pumped into her for about two weeks now. Although we are so saddened to see April is such a serious and grim condition, we know she is ready to meet Jesus, for you see, she is both mentally and physically handicapped. She has a sure hope of Heaven, where she will see Jesus face to face, and be free from all of her ailments and handicaps.

Beginning of Another Week ...

Today is the beginning of another week. Another week to minister for God. Yes, I realize as I get older that life is swiftly passing, and I need to be busy about the Master's work. I don't want to waste my life, but I want to utilize each and every day with wisdom and God's smile upon my activities and actions.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of our little Sunshine, Joshua. He has brought so much joy into our home! I'm loving the moments God has given us to raise this child for Him. I never thought I would be a Mommy all over again. Thank God for His wonderful surprises! He knows just what we need at any point in our life.

Blogging Novice

This is my first time blogging, so please excuse me as I learn. I have enjoyed reading other blogs and keeping up with different families, so I thought I would try one myself. We finally upgraded the technical apparatuses in our home, and purchased a computer a few weeks ago. We always had to trudge to the local library to retrieve any important information we needed, so this is a real convenience for me. Although my children think my computer abilities are minimal, I am slowly learning my way around. May you have a wonderful day full of the love of Jesus.
